Garry Cole knows all too well how many older citizens there are in metro Detroit who could use a helping hand. He’s the vice president of marketing and sales for SameAddress, a social enterprise program of the Area Agency on Aging.
“SameAddress does almost exactly what AAA does today, but because AAA is government funded, there’s only so much money. That means they’re charged with taking care of the most in-need (seniors), those with a disorder or physical need or a financial hardship,” said Cole.
Just like the local branch of the Area Agency on Aging, AAA1B, SameAddress serves seniors and their caregivers in Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair and Washtenaw counties. The difference is that anyone can take advantage of the services offered, from in-home care to handyman services, meal delivery and anything in between.
